Can I apply clear coat on top of epoxy paint on garage floor?
We purchase the epoxy kit but we did not mix A with B. My error. Now I want to protect my floor with some kind of a sealer or concrete protector so the paint wont peal off. My fear is would the sealer or clear coat can I apply on top of the paint. Recommendations please. I dont want to take the whole thing off and start all over again. Thanks
If you used just part A or B it will take forever, if ever dry. You sure can’t put a sealer on it if the first coat isn’t dry. Sorry, it’s got to come off first. I suggest acetone. Have plenty of ventilation and a real big bunch of rags.
Aqua Sealer By ASIAGULF GROUP
The Aqua Sealer protective coating system, developed by our associate partner, is a low viscosity, non-solvent type 100% volume solid epoxy coating with excellent adhesion to steel, concrete, metal to metal and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, stainless steel, titanium ERP and even glass.
This coating system can be painted on hot surface (up to 150 degrees Celcius), wet surface and sweating pipes with minimal surface preparation and displays excellent adhesion and compatability with other coatings. It is especially formulated as a 1-coat system to cater for the application of the protective coating on surfaces without shutting down parts of the plant – an obvious choice to save time due to the time constraint on maintenance programme of a plant/refinery.
It contains Zirconium and is suitable for rebuilding pitted surfaces upto 5mm. It is also solvent-free making it ideal for application to the interior of drinking water tanks.
Please take note that we have already did a live demo on the sweating pipes (which proves the capability of our coating system).
This nano-technology system is already approved by PETRONAS (under PTS) and has already been applied in PETRONAS’s and TALISMAN’s projects.

Patching, Filling & Grinding Your Concrete- Patching & Repairing Your Concrete
PATCHING, FILLING & GRINDING
Patching & Repairing Your Concrete
What You Need:
•Jiffy Mixer or Putty Knife
•Broom or Shop-Vac
•Hand Grinder or sander
•Latex Protective Gloves
•Small Mixing Container
•Self-Leveling Sealant or Patching Compound
Filling in divots, pits and cracks is an optional step. Hairline cracks will be filled in with the primer epoxy and do not require special attention unless the crack is wide or deep. Patch all pits and cracks by utilizing a concrete patching compound.
Use a self-leveling sealant, which is also a flexible coating, to fill in expansion joints. This is an optional step based on your personal preference. Please clean and remove all debris from the expansion joints before applying.
It is extremely difficult to completely hide an expansion joint; therefore it is recommended to fill it in as much as you can. Applying this also allows the concrete to move without cracking it. Fillers must dry overnight before applying any coatings.
To repair your cracks and divots, use Norcrete Crack Filler. This two component 100% solids epoxy crack filler is designed for shallow repair on either vertical or horizontal surfaces. This product is easy to mix and use and has a non-critical mix ratio. Additionally, because it is a 100% solids formulation, it can be applied thicker on horizontal surfaces when required.
This product has a mix ratio of 1 part A to 1 part B by volume. To mix, simply measure out equal volumes of the material and mix them together thoroughly with slow speed mixing equipment such as a jiffy mixer, putty knife until the material is thoroughly mixed and uniform in color. Mix only an amount of material that can be used in the allotted pot life period. Improper or insufficient mixing may result in product failure.
If you are having a hard time spreading the compound because of its thick consistency, dip your putty knife in a xylene solution and spread the patching compound. Zylene is a thinning agent and will help smooth out the consistency for easier application.
Here is another trick to get the patching compound as even and level to the surface as possible. Dip a paintbrush in some Xylene and brush it over the patched area to smooth the surface.
After you have patched the surface and waited the appropriate cure time, you can now begin to grind the surface. By grinding the patched areas, you will be leveling the surface of your concrete. This creates a seamless surface so you will no longer see the patched areas once you apply the coating.

Granite Shield – Customer reaction to the sealing process
Granite Shield created the first lifetime granite sealer in 2002, the difference is the sealer will last a lifetime without maintenance or reapplication of the sealer. You don’t have to worry about wiping up spills immediately, worry about acidic liquids, using coasters or placemats ever again.
Granite Shield achieves their lifetime permanent sealing process for granite using proprietary catalyzing polymers. These chemicals are not standard sealers purchased over the counter but specifically made for Granite Shield by their chemists and can’t be found anywhere else or used by anyone else other than an authorized Granite Shield applicator or fabricator. Depending if the granite is considered light, medium or dark, each type of stone takes a different application process and then is capped with catalyzing polymers with a permanent carbon crystal sealant which then locks the catalyzing polymer into the stone. The carbon crystal sealant forms a molecular bond with the granite which can not be removed thus creating a lifetime seal plus leaving your granite more vibrant, smoother, shinier, maintenance free and still able to breathe. Granite Shield has no plastic or silicone and it is a breathable, penetrating sealer and will not scratch or yellow. Granite Shield not only permanently seals but enhances the shine and depth of the gloss on polished granite. Granite Shield permanently seals granite but also works on quartz products such as Silestone, CaesarStone, Avanza and other man-made countertops too. Granite Shield can seal all types of countertops including natural stone, engineered stone and even concrete countertops.
Even the best polished granite countertop will feel smoother with Granite Shield. The dullest granite takes on a more vibrant, glossier look and the darkest colored granite such as Blue Pearl is smoother, shinier and looks more polished then it ever did. Granite Shield can be applied to new or existing granite countertops and can go through any existing sealer or presealed granite. No special granite slabs need to be purchased. A granite fabricator can still purchase the granite slab where he normally buys his slabs or the slab yard of the customer’s choice. So with Granite Shield you can have any color of granite available in the world, not just a select few. It only requires one licensed authorized Granite Shield applicator or granite fabricator and is ready to use immediately after sealing. The Granite Shield process can be applied at the fabrication shop or in the customer’s home after installation. Many independent granite fabricators throughout the United States have been offering their customers Granite Shield’s permanent lifetime sealing process since 2002.
7 Day Test – GS & Red Wine demonstration: http://www.graniteshieldstore.com/7daytestgraniteshieldvsredcookingwine.html
“My name is Karan Barber and I am the Granite Shield Distributor for the North Carolina area. This product is terrific. It truly is amazing! We have Shielded several types of stone and put them to the test. We put red wine, red Kool-Aid, iodine, brake fluid, oven cleaner, lemon juice etc. on the shielded stone, left it for 24 hours and it wiped right off with a wet paper towel. Water beads on honed stone.”
Thanks,

How To Prepare a Concrete Floor For Tile Installtion
Armen Tavy explains how using a Concrete Sealer will improve results when you are dealing with a ‘less than perfect’ substrate. This particular concrete floor was extremely porous. Sealing the concrete ensured a better coverage with the Thin Skin adhesive. Thin Skin was used in this installation for crack suppression. A few hairline cracks were present in the concrete subfloor and they will not affect the tile installation with the combination of Thin Skin and the 007 and or 008 adhesive. Covered by a 15 year warranty. Learn more and see where to buy Thin Skin at http://www.tavytools.com
