Sundek has been a pioneer in revolutionizing the decorative coating industry. Sunstamp is a Stamped Concrete Overlay application that is 1/4 to 1/2 inch in thickness and utilizes texture mats or stencils to create unique patterns. Depending on the desired outcome a base material is trowelled on allowed to dry, if stencils are used, they are layed down in place. The second coat of texture material is applied and texture mats are put in place to stamp an irregular stone type finish. Once the material is dry, custom stained colors are used to complete the look.
Acid Stain or Stained Concrete is an economical way to create a one of a kind finish. This trendy application has been used extensively on the East and West Coast and is now becoming more popular in the MidWest. Acid Stain can be applied by brush or spray. Once applied to the floors the dwell time is approximately 12 hours. The acid is then neutralized and removed from the surface. Two coats of clear sealer and wax are then applied resulting in a high gloss finish.
Citadel Floor finishing system is another product Decorative Concrete Resurfacing installs. This is another incredible finish for your basement, patio and GARAGE FLOORS. This revolutionary aliphatic polyurea coating is a fast curing rock solid finish. This application is resistant to oil, salt, gasoline and other contaminants. acid stain video
After 40-50 hours of prep-work the two layers of acid stain have been applied. The prep-work consisted of about 20 hours of sanding with a rotary floor buffer machine, another 10-15 hours of hands and knees scrubbing with paint stripper, more hours of concrete patch work, then about 100 gallons of fresh water scrubbed with the floor buffing machine and shop vac’ed. We still have sealer to put down after another 50-70 gallons of fresh water cleaning to get all the stain residue off the floor.
